Hi Steve, Im a 3rd year physical geography student in LJMU and im doing my dissertation on the River Calder and actually took samples of soil in this field in October 2012, just wondering when this flood occured as my dissertation is based around flooding in the valley so any help would be appreciated. Also would it be all right if i were to use this image in my project, you would be referenced fully and correctly. Much appreciated

Hi Simon, thanks for your message. That image came from the BBC website, and it accompanied the flood story on January 21st 2008.
If you can’t find the full story from that info – just google ‘whalley arches’ under image search and the pic and bbc link comes up.
